Our school carries the name of Ruskin Bond — Dehradun's own storyteller of the hills. Like his tales, our days are simple and full of wonder: unhurried mornings, small joys, muddy hands, and childhood given all the room it needs to grow.
Ruskin Bond International School, Dehradun · operated by Medhachaitanyakarana
🎈 Admissions open — 2026–27A warm, unhurried playschool and full-day daycare on Rajpur Road, Dehradun — for children aged 1 year to 5 years, with after-school daycare for older children. Small groups, trained caregivers, and days built around curiosity and worksheets.
Leo is practising his roar, Honey has her paw in the honey pot, Bubbles is splashing, Twinkle’s horn is glowing… and look up — Coco the Monkey is swinging right above you!
Every morning Leo practises his big brave roar. Watch him — and try to roar louder!
Honey the Bear guards the honey pot… one paw in, one lick, one very happy bear. Mind the bee!
A butterfly landed on Daisy’s antlers! She stays very, very still so it never flies away.
Ruby never stops hopping — carrot in paw, she bounces highest at music time.
Nutty is nibbling his favourite acorn and wagging his fluffy little tail with joy.
When something magical happens — a birthday, a first word read aloud — Twinkle’s horn glows!
Little Bubbles sprays tiny fountains with his trunk at water-play time. Stand back!
Quacky paddles round the splash tub all day — with one happy quack for every friend who walks past!
A first look at our campus — and the colourful building waiting on Rajpur Road.
Each group has its own space, its own rhythm and its own team — so the day fits the child, not the other way round. Half-day, full-day and extended-hour options in every program.
Gentle one-on-one care, on your baby's own schedule.
First steps away from home — friends, fun and settling in.
Curiosity leads — themes, projects and early literacy through play.
Ready for big school — reading, writing and numbers through play.
A safe, happy second home after school — meals, rest and homework help.
Little corners children love — the story corridor, our tree classroom and the pottery room 🎨
Ruskin Bond International School began with a simple idea: children learn best when they feel safe, seen and unhurried. Our rooms are calm, our groups are small, and our teachers know every child by name — and by temperament.
We follow a play-led, activity-based approach that builds language, motor skills, curiosity and confidence long before it ever touches a workbook. Parents get daily updates, so you never wonder how the day went.
Predictable enough that children feel secure. Flexible enough that a good story never gets cut short.
Physical check-up, hand wash, and a proper hello from a familiar face at the door.
Good-morning song, calendar and weather, and each child gets a moment to share.
Fresh fruit and a light bite, served together at low tables — children are encouraged to serve themselves.
The week's theme through art, blocks, water play, sorting games or a science surprise.
Slides, swings, sand pit, balance beams and running-around-for-no-reason time.
A freshly cooked, nutritionist-planned vegetarian menu. Allergies and preferences noted individually.
Dim lights, soft music, own bedding. Non-nappers get books and puzzles in the calm corner.
Evening snack, a story on the rug, and open-ended play until pick-up.
A short handover from the caregiver — how the day went, what was eaten, what made them laugh.
We'd rather answer these before you have to ask.
Cameras in every classroom, corridor and play area, with recordings retained and reviewable by management on request.
Every caregiver is police-verified, trained in early childhood care and certified in paediatric first aid and CPR.
Children are released only to authorised adults on your list, with photo ID and a signed handover every single time.
Infirmary, first-aid stations on the ground floor and a documented emergency drill each term.
In-house kitchen, with a posted weekly menu.
Rounded furniture, soft flooring, covered sockets, gated stairs, non-toxic paints and daily sanitisation of toys and surfaces.
An open play area under the sky — slides, swings and a sand pit, plus a garden where children plant, water and watch things grow.
An air-conditioned indoor play zone with soft-play equipment, ball pit and activity corners — so a rainy Dehradun afternoon never cuts play short.
Because timings are flexible, we share a fee sheet matched to the schedule you actually need. Call us or request a call back and we'll send it the same day.

Usually one to two weeks. We run a phased settling-in: short days first, a parent nearby for the first few sessions, then gradually longer. We never rush it, and we never let a child cry alone.
1:5 for infants and toddlers, and 1:8 for Nursery and after-school daycare — always with a second adult present in the room.
Yes. Morning snack, a hot cooked lunch and an evening snack are available, prepared fresh in our own kitchen and billed separately. The weekly menu is shared with parents in advance, and allergies are handled individually.
Cameras cover every room and play area. Footage is retained and can be reviewed with the centre head on request.
We call you immediately, keep your child comfortable in our care room, and involve our on-call paediatrician if needed. Children with fever or infection are asked to stay home for everyone's safety.
Birth certificate, immunisation record, four passport photos, parent ID proof, and details of authorised pick-up persons.
Please do — we'd insist on it. Book a walkthrough and spend time in the rooms while children are actually there. That tells you more than anything we could write.
Tell us a little about your child and we'll call you back within one working day to fix a time. Visits are best in the morning, when the rooms are full of life.
Our school is named after Dehradun's own beloved storyteller. This corner keeps his spirit close — a note from his books, and space for our own photos and videos as school life begins.
“And when all the wars are done, a butterfly will still be beautiful.”
— Ruskin Bond
🦋 A favourite line at story time. His books sit on the lowest shelf of our reading corner — right where small hands can reach.
Campus walkthroughs and little moments from the classrooms will live here.
🌱 In our garden every child plants and tends a sapling — just like the boy in The Cherry Tree, watching something small become something wonderful.
Walk-ins welcome between 10:00 am and 4:00 pm on weekdays.
